BG provides four (4) distinct surround speaker solutions.
1) Audio researchers familiar with Line Arrays argue that these make technically superior surround speakers.
2) THX, Dolby, and DTS recommend Bipole surrounds for movie watching.
3) The same certification companies recommend Dipole in specific applications.
4) Commercial theaters typically use a series of Monopoles, relevant for multi-channel home audio also.
We know you need different surround technologies for different home theater applications. BG's approach to surround speakers is to offer home theater designers and owners a choice. We make world class line source speakers, planar ribbon based dipole, bipole, and monopole speakers. The choice is yours. |
Line Array speakers
Characterized by a line source wave pattern. In larger home theaters, this offers a distinct advantage. People sitting at the end of the rows will experience similiar sound pressure as those in the middle.

Bipole
speakers
Characterized by a diffuse sound field with very wide dispersion, often created by multiple drivers facing in different directions yet in phase with each other. BG's bipoles take advatange of the inherently wide dispersion of our planar drivers creating a smooth yet wide sound field.

Dipole speakers
Characterized by two distinct sound fields opposed to each other and in opposite phase. BG's DPC technology is perfect for those cases where dipole is called for.

Monopole speakers
Commonly used. BG has small discreet in-walls for smaller spaces and larger in-walls for most other applications.
